Mr. Donoho's legal practice focuses on resolving disputes arising out of technically complex construction projects.  Mr. Donoho has experience in trials, arbitrations, mediations, contested hearings, appeals, and many other aspects of commercial litigation.  He has litigated lawsuits involving breach of contract, breach of warranty, professional negligence, misrepresentation, insurance coverage, and intellectual property.  Mr. Donoho has been recognized by Illinois Super Lawyers as a "Rising Star."   

Before his career as an attorney, Mr. Donoho earned a degree in engineering and spent seven years as a manager and consultant to large, international organizations.  He later clerked for the Honorable William J. Bauer and served as a research assistant to the Honorable Richard A. Posner, both of the U.S. Court of Appeals, Seventh Circuit.

  • Defense of a large engineering and construction firm against over $100 million in claims relating to the design of a polysilicon plant.
  • Prosecution of a large engineering and construction firm’s claims worth over $10 million relating to the design, build, and operation of an organics processing facility.

Education

Mr. Donoho received his J.D. from the University of Chicago in 2009, where he was Executive Editor of the Chicago Journal of International Law.  He graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with Highest Honors in 1999 with a B.S. in computer engineering.
