Expertise

Jacob Mitchell is a litigation associate at Stein Ray LLP. Mr. Mitchell focuses his practice on complex construction litigation matters, including contract interpretation, construction delay, and design-defect related claims. Prior to joining Stein Ray, Mr. Mitchell practiced in the Chicago office of an international law firm working on antitrust and internal investigation matters. Before practicing law, Mr. Mitchell worked for nearly a decade at an engineering firm specializing in deep excavations and tunneling.  He has hands-on experience in all stages of design and construction and on projects of all sizes.

Education​

Mr. Mitchell received his Juris Doctor, with honors, from the University of Chicago Law School in June of 2022. Mr. Mitchell graduated from the University of Colorado at Boulder, with his Master of Science and Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering in 2010.
